2013's Summer Collegiate Program - Stats & Live Publishing !UPDATE!

In 2013 the Westchase Express Baseball Club has signed with Pointstreak to be the Program's season statistical software and Live Publishing of all games.  Poinstreak currently performs the same services for many summer collegiate and professional minor leagues.  What Pointstreak will allow us to do it that we will be able to provide full player game by game statistical tracking along with a new feature.  Poinstreak now has Live Publisher, which takes the broadcasted games and allows us to link in real game highlights as the action is moving.  2011 we used the base software program and found that Poinstreak was a premium package, but lacked the ease of use, so in 2012 we used iScore.  As last year's friends, families, and fans can validate, the addition of live broadcasts of our games through multiple media devices (PC, phones and tablets) brought pleasure and an edge to our program.  In 2013, we hope to grow on that and just as iScore did, Poinstreak's Live Publisher will show that we here at the Westchase Express Baseball Club want to bring more to the fans.

The Westchase Express will use the groundbreaking technology to produce live video highlights from all games instantly for you the fan to see as it happens.  There is a 90 second delay on all broadcasts, but this technology will combine Poinstreak's industry leading real-time scoring software with STEVA Sports Softwware technology to provide a seamless system that automatically captures a video club, then indexes it to the relevant event and player, and then uploads to the web to be delivered to any media type.  The entire process takes place in moments.  The propriety process developed also means that there is little to no loss in video quality during the data compression and uploading process, meaning the online video highlights are of a very high-quality compared to poorer "web quality" video seen in other systems.

2013 Westchase Express Cougars Collegiate Summer Program

Cougars are now accepting early commitments for the 2013 summer program.  Just as in the past, the Cougars will play a 50+ game schedule that includes collegiate summer league games and regional tournaments.

This summer's tournament schedule is considering travel back to Oklahoma over the Memorial Weekend the last week of May along with a trip over the 4th of July for TBD tournament  (Current considerations is Georgetown, Tx, Dallas, Tx, Nashville, Tn, Denver, Co, and Cleveland, Oh).  In addition to these familiar tournaments, the Cougars will plan on traveling to either the Witchita, Kansas for the NBC World Series or to Suffolk County (Long Island), Ny for the AABC Stan Musial World Series.  The Cougars will also complete in the AABC Stan Musial Regional qualifying tournaments in late July with other tournaments possibly scheduled throughout July depending on player participation.

In preparation of this summer's commitments and the demand for sufficient number of players to meet the grueling summer schedule we have decided to provide opportunities for out-of-area players to join the summer program.

With this is mind, players that are wanting to come to Houston, Texas to play this summer can with early notification.  Out-of-state commitees must be committed by NLT January 31st, 2012, or have their own arrangements made for housing.  Players will have the option of requesting sponsor homes or making arrangements themselves.  Fees for out of state players who require housing may have to pay an additional $600 for the summer.  This will be used for transportation and other living expenses.   We will look for and attempt to provide summer work options as available.

Player fees for the Cougar Collegiate Summer Program in 2012 will be $450 for Position Players and $375 for Pitcher Only Players.  A discount of $25 can be deducted if Player's Fees are paid in full by April 1st, 2013.  The first 20 players that commits and pays their fees will be accepted the remaining 8 slots will be reserved for players to tryout for.  Due to roster limitations, only 24 players will be carried on the final regional tournament and world series rosters.

Player fees will be due in full NLT May 1st, 2013.  Any arrangements for later payments are only available for those players who are still in their respective program post seasons and those who ask for payment plans.

Slots are quickly being filled and unlike past years, late applicants who do not commit by the required deadlines will have to wait and tryout between May 15th and May 28th.

Out-of-state applicants may still be accepted after the deadline, but should plan to to pay for lodging.  Transportation will still be provided while in Houston and to / from the airports and/or bus stations.  Other arrangements may come depending on commitments and open host families who have players in the program.

To commit / register for the 2013 program go to the "2013 Summer - Player Registration" page.  One of our coaches will contact you or your parents to discuss the program.  The summer program will run from May 16th through August 18th (if we qualify for Stan Musial World Series in New York).

The fees collected along with sponsor support will be used to cover costs for league fees, umpires, equipment, use of jerseys, hats, pants, field rentals, and all misc. costs.
